The Digital National ID is an electronic version of your physical PhilID, downloadable via the PhilSys website & the eGovPH mobile app. It carries the same legal weight as the physical card and is accepted in various sectors, including banking, government services, and private institutions.

This Digital National ID also refers to EphilID or Temporary National Id.

Unfortunately, due to a recent update you cant download digital National ID online, so follow these steps:

Step 1: Install the eGovPH App

  • Download the eGovPH app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store from the given buttons below.

  • Log in or create an account using your email and mobile number.

Step 2: Enter Information

  • You will see a form where you have to enter your personal information.
  • Input your first name, middle name, last name, and date of birth.

Make sure that your details match those submitted during National ID registration, or your identity won’t be verified.

Step 3: Facial Liveness Verification

  • Click “Start Liveness.” You’ll need to align your face on screen and follow prompts for head movements.

  • Remove eyeglasses, hats, or masks. The system checks your live face against stored biometric data.
  • It will ask you to move your face in different directions to verify your identity. Example is shown below.

Step 4: Download National ID (Digital)

  • After successful verification, you can click “View National ID” as shown in the picture below.

  • After clicking on “view National ID”, you will see you national ID.

  • You can see following information in your national id:
  • National ID card Number
  • Last Name
  • Given Name
  • Middle Name
  • Date of Birth
  • Address
  • QR code
  • Then there will be an option as “Download Digital ID.” Click on it, this will download your national id in PDF format.
  • Note that this file is encrypted and cannot be copied or transferred between devices.

  • The file will be a password-protected PDF containing both front and back views of your digital PhilSys ID with QR codes.
  • You can also scan the QR code on your ePhilID or PhilSys card using the app’s scanner, this way a digital version of the ID will appare in the App.
  • The password for the downloaded Digital National ID is your date of birth formatted as MMDDYYYY. This means you use the month, day, and year of your birth in that specific numerical format without any separators.

Password Format Details:

For example, if your date of birth is March 15, 1990, your password would be: 03151990

  • The site will show your card’s delivery status, often via PhilPost.
